چکیده
We study spiral waves in a mathematical model of nonlinear optical system with feedback loop. Starting from delayed scalar diffusion equation thin annulus oblique derivative boundary conditions, we shrink the and derive limiting on circle. Based explicitly constructed normal form Hopf bifurcation for one-dimensional equation, make predictions about existence stability two-dimensional spirals that verify direct numerical simulations, observing pulsating rotating waves.

Rotating spirals in a Faraday experiment.
We report experiments and model simulations of patterns of parametrically excited capillary ripples in a large aspect-ratio cell with thin horizontal layer of viscous fluid subjected to sinusoidal vertical oscillations. We found stable rotating spirals with different topological charges in the parameter range where steady straight rolls were observed previously. Formation of multiarmed spirals ...
متن کاملEffective desynchronization by nonlinear delayed feedback.
We show that nonlinear delayed feedback opens up novel means for the control of synchronization. In particular, we propose a demand-controlled method for powerful desynchronization, which does not require any time-consuming calibration. Our technique distinguishes itself by its robustness against variations of system parameters, even in strongly coupled ensembles of oscillators. We suggest our ...
متن کاملNonlinear Feedback Stabilization of a Rotating Body-Beam Without Damping
This paper deals with nonlinear feedback stabilization problem of a exible beam clamped at a rigid body and free at the other end. We assume that there is no damping. The feedback law proposed here consists of a nonlinear control torque applied to the rigid body and either a nonlinear boundary control moment or a nonlinear boundary control force or both of them applied to the free end of the be...
متن کاملNonlinear Dynamical Behavior in a Semiconductor Laser System Subject to Delayed Optoelectronic Feedback
We study the nonlinear dynamical behavior of a semiconductor laser subject to delayed optoelectronic feedback. We perform this study by designing a simple electronic circuit whose behavior is governed by the same equations that govern the laser system. The circuit offers important experimental advantages, since it operates with much slower speeds, and has easily tunable parameters. Furthermore,...
متن کاملMaking Spirals with Counter - Rotating Disks 3
A single merger scenario for making galaxies such as NGC 4550 possessing equal coplanar counter-rotating stellar disks is investigated by collisionless N-body technique. The scenario is successful in producing an axisymmetric disk made of two almost equal counter-rotating populations. The final disk shows a clear bimodal line profile in the outer part, which demonstrates that disk-disk mergers ...
